We ventured to the NC Mountain State Fair yesterday for the first time, going early on the first day to avoid some of the craziness. I'm glad we avoided the crowds, but craziness is just inherent in state fairs. Rides!! Music!! Food!! Animals!! People!! Everything!! Crazy can be fun though.
Miss Maia, who had never been on a ride before, had the time of her life.
We met up with a friend and her little girl and rode the carousel and an assortment of other little kid rides.
Of course there's a lot more to state fairs than rides. We saw plenty of animals as well (cows, llamas, goats, pigs, chickens), but that's as far as we got. Maia had a one-sided conversation with each one for a while. "Hi there. Is your food good? Are you sleeping?" etc.
I think we'll be back next year -- early on the first day.
