I'm in love with this drawing! It's the first time Maia's drawn herself or the whole family. Thank goodness we don't actually look like this, but still. I love, love, love it! Maia drew herself in the middle, followed by Harry on the right, and me on the left with an extra belly, colored pink, where the baby is growing. I especially like all the fingers and toes and the psychedelic hair colors.
We took Maia on a big sibling tour of the hospital recently, something that is organized by our local children's science museum. It was awesome. (And this is coming from someone who has always been hospital-phobic.) Among other things, Maia got to hold lifesize models of developing babies, visit the mama/baby rooms, and ask a million questions. At the end they handed out activity books for the big sisters and brothers.
Yesterday she wanted to work on the book and did a number of the drawing activities. In addition to the family portrait above, she drew a picture of herself and the baby together, and one of just the baby upside down with legs and arms in the air. The last was perfect since I just found out that the baby is finally properly head down (she's been sideways for a while). Woo hoo! I'm so glad I don't have to worry about turning a breech baby.
And, here's a photo from earlier this week. Maia's giving the baby a kiss after drawing a picture for her on my belly. This little girl is getting lots of lovin'!
