Look what came in the mail today! Sharon Lovejoy's new book. I can't wait to read it! I may need to set the "Raising Your Spirited Child" books aside for a while and dive into this one. Although you could say that's an ongoing problem of mine. I want to have better parenting skills (boundary setting, discipline, and all that) but given the choice between a setting limits book and a fun book like Toad Cottages & Shooting Stars, I always choose the fun book. I'd much rather read about creative and artful ways to spend our time.
(Okay, I know the parenting skills books are important. I promise to go back to them as soon as I finish this one.)
Toad Cottages is filled with Sharon's lovely illustrations, as always.
As well as lots of photos. And just in flipping through it, I can see that there are SO MANY wonderful ideas to try. I can't wait to get started!
Oh, and the subtitle? Grandma's Bag of Tricks? Pshaw! I'm keeping this one for myself! This one is Mama's Bag of Tricks. Maybe Grandma will get a copy for mother's day.
Here's one idea that we're going to try soon: a winter windowsill garden (greatly elaborated on in the book).
Sharon Lovejoy is one of my all-time favorite authors. If you haven't read my interview with her, it's here. She is such an inspiration. I wanna be like her when I'm a grandma.
