She rarely directed (although she wasn't afraid to), but rather let our day take its course and recorded it as we went -- making everyone feel at ease, and thus photographing us as who we are.
I first got to know Lenka's work when my good friend Rachel had her photograph her new baby, Desmond (brother to toddler art group member Joe and to two former toddler art group members Nathan and Justin). She did an amazing job of capturing his little spirit and utter newborn-ness on film. Besides babies, Lenka also photographs children, families, and pregnancies.
