Maia is six today! I've already shared pics from the last six years, so I think I'll just share the dress I made for her birthday party. (And then I'd better go bake some cupcakes!)
I sewed Maia's party dress using the good old t-shirt to dress idea I use all the time. What can I say? --it's quick, easy, and comfortable! I repurposed the silk skirt part from the holiday dress I made for Maia last Christmas. I wanted to add some color, though, so I dyed it with orange Kool-Aid first (the same way I made the Kool-Aid dyed playsilks).
The tank top I used for the dress top had a rumpled bow for embellishment which I replaced with a flower for a little more pizzazz.
I think (and hope) that Maia will love it. I'm betting she'll wear the dress with fairy wings and/or a princess crown...
