We've always been white sheet people. White sheets and white pillowcases. Whether that means we're purists or just boring, I'm not sure. But I've been craving more color lately, and colorful pillowcases specifically, so I used some my new fabric stash to indulge my desire for color.
The fabric from the yard sale was mostly sold in one yard lengths -- just enough to make a single pillowcase. I wanted pairs, and also liked the idea of more color options, so sewed these reversible pillowcases with one color on each side.
I'm loving these batik prints and am enjoying the colors, but am not sure I'll use them all the time. They're a tad bright (which was the point perhaps), especially that yellow, and maybe a tad 80s. I may go back to the white pillowcases, bringing these out when I need some color therapy.
I'm still undecided about whether they are playful or garish, but Daphne and Maia love them and Maia has already requested a set for her bed. So perhaps I'll be sewing some more reversible pillowcases...
